My Journey
My name is Max Benson. I'm a 23 year old photographer based out of Nassau County, NY. Growing up, I always wanted to be a nurse. As graduation drew closer, I realized the medical field wasn’t for me and pivoted to turn this photography hobby I had into a Career.
About Me
It all started with a $25 photoshoot back in high school by one of my old coworkers. I got about a dozen pictures and I was hooked. I never realized how nice pictures could get with a proper camera and some edits compared to a cellphone. After going down the rabbit hole of 'YouTube University' for all things photography for a few months, I pulled the trigger and bought myself my first camera.
Hidden Irony
Funny enough, I never liked getting my own picture taken. Ask my mom, it was a struggle just getting me to smile for the camera. I preferred being behind the lens, capturing those moments usually glossed over in life. Genuine happiness, a loving embrace, a family reunion after years of no contact. I started out taking pictures for friends and family, public events, and parades. Eventually I ended up bringing the camera anywhere I go just in case. Fast forward about 8 years, and here we are.
